or I how Made AG forgive me in less than 1,000 words
The third book I have read while on vaction is Michael Chabon’s
“Gentlemen of the Road: A Tale of Adventure” (Michael Chabon)
Gentlemen of the Road. It was amazing.
The book is set in Central Asia in about 950 CE and it centers around the Khazars. Our heros, the aforementioned Gentleman, are a jews from Europe and Africa. This book reminds me of Fritz Leiber’s Lankhmar with a nod towards history.
A nod, but from what I gathered, nothing directly lifted from history. Still, I will now be spending a significant portion of my vacation reading and learning about various Jewish traditions–Zelikman and Amram have lit a fire under me.
UC loves this author. I will send him over…
All is totally forgive, sweet muffin.
