District 5 (Bridgeview) is full of early voters today–more than at both previous elections I have seen. This is cool as hell.
Haven’t voted yet, but will on Election Day. My polling station is literally at the bottom of my hill. I’ll go on my way home. Mom and Dad both already turned their ballots in (they voted mail-in). They’re saying in CO, they’ve had early voter turnout equal to half of the total # who voted in the last Presidential election.
I think that’s great news.
I only hope that the people who are voting are not discouraged if their candidate(s) do not win.
And if their candidate DOES win, if they (the candidate) isn’t capable of doing everything they promised during the campaign. (Not that we shouldn’t hold politicians accountable – just that some things in American politics don’t change. At least, they won’t change any time soon).
