I’m just wondering how giving up my civil liberties is going to make me safer. If I give up my right to a fair trial, including The Great Writ, will that stop a terrorist attack on New York? If I give up my rights to free speech, do I save a soldiers life? If I swallow the party line, are we any closer to stopping Bin Laden?

I really need someone to either 1) give me the magic fascist kool-aid* or 2) spell out a coherent argument as to surrendering my rights and liberties–the ones W says the terrorist hate so much–is going to make me safer.

*Not the bullet that someone offered me to give me in the back of my head for questioning Anna Coulter.
