Dear Internet,
I have a fairly strict budget for everything from Beer and Comics (which I have not bought in almost four months) to video games and clothes. So it should come as no surprise that I have a budget for shoes. Before Jackie, I bought one pair when I needed one. Post Jackie, I feel compelled to stay stylish.
So this morning, when I check my email, I find an add for this:
and this
For a moment, I wish I had sold out and worked in sales. At the same time, I wonder what happened to the guy who didn’t care about shoes or style, and would have balked at paying that much for boots.
I honestly think I can afford one pair and just tighten my belt (meaning more yogurt and granola for dinner, less beer and possibly selling a few things that I mean to sell anyway) this month…and doing the same thing next month. The question is, should I? Keep in mind I just took out my entire new computer fund to buy a camera…so my savings are limited this month.

You don’t want my advice on this subject. Shoes are one of the reasons I have a second job.
No no no. i want your advice.
Shoes will last you longer than beer.
Do you need new boots? Or do you want new boots?
If say I need them, will i be called on it or will it be accepted at face value?
Spending money on luxury shoes is a horrible waste of money. You may as well wipe your butt clean with Hamiltons.
This is the kind of honesty and advice I don’t want but I totally need. The trick is do I actually follow it…
I will totally call you on it. How many pairs of boots do you own and what condition are they in?
I now own two pairs of boots. I just bought the black ones.
Well, not that it matters anymore, but I don’t like either of them. And now I understand about the boots thing in the most recent post. I guess I should have read this first before commenting on the other.
