January 5, 2009 will be my first day back at work. To be fair, I’m looking forward to it. While I needed a week of zero responsibility, I find that I miss the structure provided by my job. Left to my own devices, I have broken every cardinal rule I have: Too much WoW per day, eating past 10pm, drinking beyond the buzzed state (this only happened twice), few chores completed. I did clean–but I did not do as much as I probably should have.
When I do get back to work, I have an evaluation waiting for me and roughly seven folders left to close out. Allegedly, we also have lap tops and new policies in place.
Going back to work means I also pay more attention to the news. I’ve listened to NPR throughout my break, but sometimes I just need to rock out to Ted Leo or Guster. If the lap tops are in, then I’m going to be able to do more with blogging, another responsibility I just happen to have.
