  1. I must suggest:

    “Gin & Juice” The Gourds

    “Thunder Road” Counting Crows

    “Do Re Me” Ani DiFranco

    “Bitches ain’t Shit” Ben Folds

    “In Between Days” Ben Folds

“Tangerine” Big Head Todd and the Monsters

“I Fought the Law” The Clash

    “Sweet Emotion” REM

    “Landslide” Dixie Chicks

“When I Paint my Masterpiece” Grateful Dead

“Physical (You’re So)” Nine Inch Nails

    “Street Fighting Man” The Ramones

    “Ring of Fire” Social Distortion

Not to discount your list (I actually bought several songs on iTunes after reading it); just some additional suggestions.

  2. This list does not have enough Johnny Cash.

Hurt, One, Sunday Morning Comin Down, I’ve Been Everywhere, etc, etc.

He made a lot of covers because he liked good songs and he didn’t care if he didn’t write them. A good song was a good song to the Man in Black.
