What I want for Christmas…
Shannon has one. Nikkos has at least one. Will knows how to deal with them. All I want for christmas is my own, somewhat anonymous, troll. I promise to love and care for it with a number of posts.

An Apology
I am apologizing to the pretty girl in the picture: I am sorry I didn’t thank you just after you purchased the tickets for the best christmas present that my cousin will ever have. I thought I did, I meant to do it, but it turns out I forgot.
I’m sorry.
Please call off the getting back at me when I least expect it.
Test Batch
This test batch of the cranberry shortbread clearly shows the superiority of the Team Chicago Baking Effort.
You will eat it and love it.
American Civil Liberties Union : ACLU Calls for Independent Prosecutor to Investigate Destruction of CIA Interrogation Tapes
SourceAmerican Civil Liberties Union : ACLU Calls for Independent Prosecutor to Investigate Destruction of CIA Interrogation Tapes:
Says Possible Cover-Up of Potential Criminal Activity Needs to Be Examined
WASHINGTON – With the news yesterday that the Central Intelligence Agency destroyed at least two videotapes documenting the brutal interrogations of al-Qaeda suspects, the American Civil Liberties Union calls on Attorney General Mukasey to appoint an independent counsel to investigate, and if appropriate, prosecute any potential criminal activity. One of the tapes, made in 2002, purportedly shows the interrogation of Abu Zubaydah, who U.S. officials have acknowledged was subjected to waterboarding. The CIA destroyed the tapes in November 2005.
I signed the petition. I figured if you read this blog often, you will want to at least give this particular website a glance.

Romney’s ‘Faith in America’ Address – New York Times
Romney’s ‘Faith in America’ Address – New York Times:
Almost 50 years ago another candidate from Massachusetts explained that he was an American running for President, not a Catholic running for President.
If Mitt Romney gets to draw parallels between him self and JFK, then I get to call myself whatever the hell I want.
I’m sure as I read and digest this speech, I will have more angry things to say about it.

The competition has enlisted ponies…

The first of the Holiday Bake-Off Bribes Arrives!!!
(Picture of a pony is here)
Pony UPS just delivered this little sweetie to my doorstep! Imagine my surprise! Tied to a blue bow around her lovely neck was a note that said:
Just a little foreshadowing of things to come in preparation for the Holiday Bake-Off.
To balance the poison laden treats, our competition are enlisting ponies in their attempts to bribe the judges. This will not stand. I heart ponies. And unicorns. At least now BG appears to be a real threat on the bribe angle.
I welcome our competition’s base creativity and cunning.

I spel gud
Nineteen years of using spell check has seriously hampered my ability to spell. For instance, in this particular post the body of the post is being checked by the application’s built in spell check. Instance was misspelled. As was misspelled. I spel gud, the title of the post, is not.
I am beginning to rethink my policy of editing on this blog.
Of Course Its Relevant!
On All Things Considered yesterday afternoon, Mitt Romney had the audacity to say, “I don’t believe that NPR is going to ask me about my belief in the bible when we have a (health care crisis), our entitlements are in trouble….” He goes on to talk about how his belief in the Bible is not relevant to his campaign.Bullshit.Since we put, “In God We Trust” on our money and added, “Under God” to the Pledge, a candidate’s spiritual beliefs have been legitimate areas to examine. When the basis of one’s political system is the Bible, as many of the candidates have stated, then we have an obligation to engage them in discourse regarding those beliefs. I want to know if these people take the Bible as the Literal World of God, since it will definitely impact their decision making, forward planning and their policy decisions.I can’t stand that people like Romney hide behind this faux-persecuted, sanctimonious “We have better things to discuss” rhetoric. I would prefer a more honest, “Yup. Leviticus is where’s its at” statement. That kind of honesty and transparency is well beyond the scope of any of the Republican candidates. Not that I would have voted for any of them anyway. It would just be a nice, welcome change to discuss something than to be put on the defensive.
